Yesterday was the Tour de Cure! Jenny, Meghann and I rode 25 miles and raised over $150 each towards finding a cure to diabetes! I have to tell you, it was a terrifying and exciting time. I'll admit, I haven't ridden my bike in a LONG time...except for the hour Jenny and I did on Thursday, so I was TERRIFIED about completing 25 miles. Well...I did it!!!! It was a beautiful day in Brigham City, UT and the ride goes through some gorgeous horse and dairy cow country, so seeing all of the baby animals helped take my focus from the burning in my legs! When Jenny and I made it to the rest stop at halfway, it hit me that I'd already done 12 miles, and WOW that felt good! But everyone had warned me that the last few miles are the hardest. They were so RIGHT! I almost gave up 2 blocks from the end, but I am SO glad I didn't! Crossing that finish line was the best feeling ever! Having everyone cheering me on, ringing cowbells, it was amazing! I did get a bit teary as I crossed the finish line, it was a very emotional time! First of all, realizing that I'd DONE it! I'd ridden 25 miles and finished a ride! Plus realizing that not only did I finish it, but everyone around me that had crossed the finish line had accomplished the same, or more, than I had was just overwhelming!! It was great, and I can't WAIT for next year!!!! Here are some pictures of us yesterday....remember that we'd ridden 25 miles, so I'm sure our hair isn't the greatest, haha, but we didn't care!!!
